Dr. Mohammad Atari, who joined the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences in fall 2023, has received the SAGE Emerging Scholar Award from the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP). Presented through a collaboration between SPSP and SAGE Publishing, the award recognizes early-career scholars for exceptional accomplishments in teaching, research, or service to the field.

Dr. Atari's research program examines how cultural contexts shape moral values and norms, spanning cultural variation across time and place, a pluralistic approach to human morality, and the development of computational methods, particularly natural language processing, for social psychology.
