The lab is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to study psychological change in the Middle East and North Africa, with a focus on Islamic history. Start Fall 2026; rolling deadline.
The Culture and Morality Lab is hiring a postdoctoral researcher in historical psychology. The project focuses on psychological change in the Middle East and North Africa, with a particular interest in Islamic history; topical themes include religiosity, creativity, morality, and institutions.
We are interested in candidates with a PhD (or ABD status) in social psychology, cognitive science, digital humanities, quantitative history, computational sciences, or related fields. Strong skills in NLP/text analysis, R, and Python are important. Hands-on experience with open-source LLMs would be valued, and knowledge of Arabic and/or Persian would be a plus.
